Automotive LiDARs differ in field of view and angular resolution, so where and how a sensor is mounted on a vehicle determines which objects it can actually detect. As a solo project, I built a LiDAR simulation tool that models sensor placement in full 6-DoF (position and orientation). Given a sensor model and mounting pose, it shows which surrounding objects fall within the sensor's coverage, so mounting options can be compared before installing any hardware.
